Tbaytel – Frequently Asked Questions
ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR SERVICE CHANGE TO TBAYTEL
- Q. Will I continue to receive a bill from DMTS Mobility?
Yes. You will continue to receive a bill from DMTS until all outstanding balances on your DMTS account are paid in full. - Q. When will I receive a bill from Tbaytel?
Once the transfer of your account is complete, you will become a Tbaytel customer and begin receiving your monthly bill directly from Tbaytel.
- Q. What if I pay my bill through online or telephone banking?
If you currently pay your DMTS wireless bill through online or telephone banking, you will need to add your new Tbaytel account information. Tbaytel will provide you with your new account number on your first Tbaytel invoice once the transfer of your account is complete. - Q. Do I need to get a new wireless phone?
Maybe. Some handsets will simply require a SIM card change in order for customers to begin to use the Tbaytel network. Others may require an upgraded handset. Tbaytel will provide the details of how and where this SIM card change or handset upgrade will occur in its October letter to you. - Q. Will my coverage change once my account is switched over to Tbaytel?
Yes. Once you have a Tbaytel 4G HSPA+ wireless phone or Tbaytel SIM card in a 4G/3G phone, you will be able to talk, text, browse, email and more on Tbaytel’s expanded 4G HSPA+ network which covers nearly 300,000 square kilometres of Northern Ontario. Plus, you will be able to use the Roger’s network coast-to-coast throughout the rest of Canada and partner networks in the U.S. and around the world. Tbaytel will provide you with details on the Canadian and international services that will be available to you. - Q. Will my phone number stay the same?
Yes. Your wireless phone number will stay the same. However, if you desire, you may choose to get a new number from Tbaytel. - Q. My wireless phone is not HSPA; will it continue to work?
Yes. Your current wireless phone will continue to work on the DMTS network but only until December 21, 2012. We encourage you to take full advantage of the Tbaytel 4G HSPA+ network by completing the change to a Tbaytel SIM card or obtaining a Tbaytel 4G HSPA+ wireless phone as soon as possible following receipt of your letter. Tbaytel’s early October letter will provide more details. - Q. Will there be any interruption to my service?
No. Your service will not be interrupted during the switchover to Tbaytel provided you complete the change to a Tbaytel SIM card or 4G HSPA+ Tbaytel handset prior to December 21, 2012. - Q. Can I keep the same rate plan that I have today?
Tbaytel is reviewing all current DMTS Mobility rate plans to determine whether or not the current plans can be provided to Dryden Mobility customers beyond the transition. For more information on current Tbaytel 4G HSPA+ rate plans please visit tbaytel.net.
