DMTS delayed offering service in Fort Frances and Red Lake

DMTS is building a new GSM network across Northern Ontario and will soon be offering service in Fort Frances and Red Lake. It was the intention of DMTS to begin commercial service in these areas on Aug 17, 2009. However on Aug 7, 2009 DMTS was advised by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), responding to a complaint, not to establish commercial service until the company could support number portability (the ability to keep your number and change carriers) with the existing carrier. DMTS is well under way toward establishing portability and expects to be ready to support this service by the second week of September. DMTS apologizes for this additional delay in establishing commercial services in these areas.
